In general yes, but 5th graders always have the smart answer that we've forgotten about. The question was the other day, "How many days are there in the year?" and the kid said 365 and 1/4.
I think we have too many obligations and responsibilities to think about and have probably killed our brain cells with alcohol and over-work and perhaps drugs and stress.
So actually, perhaps a bright 5th grader might be smarter than the average adult.

Overall, yes. That show is no measure of how smart a 5th grader is. It is only a regurgitation of information that they probably told the kids before the show...seeing that I've only seen them miss a question once. I used to know things like that when I was a 5th grader but have forgot some of it.

uh i hate that show. but i'm sad to say i don't even know some of the answer to the questions. I'd have to say i'm smarter than a dumb 5th grader.

I think that they know alot more facts because they are learning a lot and it is fresh in their minds. i believe you learn more valuable things by expierence though so i would have to say no. if you had the same questions i am sure you could think of the answer, it may just take a little longer...

ya some what i m smarter than a 5 th grade but a 1 st grade kid is more clever these days , my neice is 7 years she knows 300 capitals which i dont even know .:
