Congrats to the people who did all the math for you and you learned nothing except what the answer is.
The main problem here is getting "like terms" together. In this case, we have "x" in the form of 3x and 4x. We also have +5 and -10.
Remember with equations to keep them "balanced" what you do to one side, you must do that to the other.
To get rid of a -10, you can add 10 to it, but you must do it to the other side as well.
Doing this will get you a new equation 3x+15= 4x.
Now we have only 3 terms to deal with and two of them are still alike, so to get rid of a 3x, we subtract it from one side, and so we must subtract it from the other. So this leaves us with 15= 4x-3x or in other words, 15 = x
and that would be your answer.

you need to first group like terms together
subtract 3x from both sides
add 10 to both sides
3x + 5 -3x= 4x -10 -3x
5= x + 10
5 + 10 = x - 10 + 10
15 = x
so x = 15
To verify your answer you can then substitute your value for x back into the original equation:
3x + 5 = 4x - 10
3(15) + 5 = 4 (15) - 10
45 + 5 = 60 - 10
50 = 50

3x + 5 = 4x - 10
3x + 5 + 10 = 4x - 10 + 10
(because you have to do the same for both of the problems)
so you will get 3x + 15 = 4x.
3x + 15 - 3x = 4x - 3x
so x = 15.

First of all you will have to group the "like terms" together;
Like this;
3x-4x=-10-5
-x=-15
but I can see that you wrote out this equation yourself and that is why you get such a funny answer
However you can multiply
(-x=-15) x (-1)
so that you get
x=15 will be your answer
Answer check:-
substitute x with 15 in the equation and you get
3*(15) + 5 = 4*(15) - 10
you get
45 + 5 = 60 - 10
50=50
so your answer x=15 is correct.

Get all the Xs on one side of the equation and the whole numbers on the other side:
3x-4x = -10-5
-1x = -15
Divide by -1 to solve for x:
-1x /-1 = -15/-1
x = 15

3x + 5 = 4x - 10 subtract 5 from both sides, getting
3x = 4x - 15 subtract 4x from both sides, getting
-x = -15 or X = 15
IMPORTANT!
Checking, 3(15) + 5 = 4(15) - 10 = 50 and we are right.

First, move all of the xs onto one side.
3x-3x+5=4x-3x-10
5=x-10
5+10=x-10+10
15=x
or
x=15
Then check your answer.
3(15)+5=4(15)10
45+5=60-10
50=50
So there you go. Remember to ALWAYS check your answer.

3x+5=4x-10
you would like to group all the like terms together, in this case 3x and 4x are one kind of like term and 5 and 10 is the other group
so...
5=x-10
15=x
theres your answer

1) You have to get all the x's on one side
2) To do that, you can move the 4x, by subtracting 4x from each side.
3) 3x-4x+5=4x-4x-10
4) Your equation now looks like this: 3x-4x+5=-10
5) You still don't have the x's alone on one side, so you must get rid of the 5, by subtracting each side by 5.
6) 3x-4x+5-5=-10-5
7) Your equation now looks like this: 3x-4x=-1
8) You can `collect like terms: 3x-4x=-x
9) Your equation now looks like this: -x=-15
10) That's what NEGATIVE x equals, you want what positive x is, so take the negative away from x and 15
11) And you get: x=15
12) Now check your answer
