The cartoonist was acquitted by the French Court and applause broke out from the courtroom when the verdict was given.

I reckon that's some of the best news i've heard, even if it was a seemingly (to me that is) pointless thing to riot over in the first place.

If things are blasphemous in this country why cant things that we in the west think a joke may be offensive to millions of others in the world.

I think that the verdict was right but care should be taken in the future & its a pity that the east have to riot over such a cartoon. They should rise above that.

It reaffirms that people that used common sense had already predicted this obvious outcome.
I for one am sick of the stupidity caused by political correctness. This case never should have seen a courtroom to begin with.

People should be free to express themselves. It's perhaps a shame that some people find gratification from poking fun at something in which people believe so strongly, but surely a fundamental requiremet to have the right to do it.

People should not take things so terribly seriously. They should rise above it. It only repells when death threats are thrown around etc!

It has confirmed the right to artistic freedom. If the verdict had been anything else it would have been a travesty.

I'm glad he wasn't convicted, I didn't see a crime was commited.

I don't respect that any religion has the right to impose on an individual's freedom.
