Chanel doesn't make "prom" dresses. You can find elegant dresses and gowns though, but they are typically priced in the thousands. You may be able to find more simple, vintage Chanel in the hundreds somewhere, and some ready-to-wear for less than a thousand as well.
You may be able to find something online from a retailer that sells designer clothing but its very difficult to shop for designer duds online as you wouldn't want to spend that much money without trying it on first.
Go to chanel.com and try to find a Chanel store near you. They are usually located in high-end shopping pagodas

That will depend on where you purchase it. If you buy on line at eBay it can run anywhere from $50 to 1200 - you could try Lohmans and find one for about 300 or you could rent one from a formal wear shop for about $75 for the night. Good Luck!
