Hi, my boyfriend and i have been together for almost three years now. his mother is the kind of person who sticks her nose into everyone else's business and opens her loud mouth when it shouldnt be opened.
I am concerened as they are going to lunch togteher and all i can think about is her saying how bad i am for him and blah blah blah.
i just want to feel accepted by his family but feel sometimes like they think i am not good enough for him....

Well I wouldnt say that she doesnt like you, if she really didnt like you we probably would have broken up sooner that 3 years. If your relationship has gone for over 3 years, I think its pretty hard to break you guys up. Yeah maybe she does have a big mouth, and maybe she still thinks your boyfriend is her baby... blah blah blah..lol but I guess thats just a motherly thing. Well some do it more than others, I tell myself I'm not going to do that to my boy then of course I want the best for him... :) but anyway why dont you share this thoughts with your love. Just kind of tell him that you feel maybe like your mom is upset or something with you and you dont understand why If he knows anything about it, use that as an excuse. but again in my personal opinion if it has been three years already I dont think that if she is really truly talking about you to him that he would even listen to her. Seems like you have a good man by your side that loves you very much. Trust him more than anything as he is standing by you and with you regardless of what other "important" people have to say about you ... God Bless

okay, you have been together for three years, obviously you love each other. the best thing i think you should do is just ignore the mother one of these days she will realize that you are good for her son. every mother is picky about the woman there son ends up with.
what he needs to do is tell his mother that her opinion matters but not when it comes to the woman he loves. if he really does love you and you are good for him he will tell his mother to back off and he will stick up for you to her. that will also help her realize how much you really do mean to him, and befor long she will come around.

I think that most mothers probably think no woman is good enough for their son. The same is probably true for fathers/daughters. Parents just want the best for their children. Just be yourself, be good to your boyfriend and maybe his mother will realize you are a good person

i sometimes feel that way toward my bf's mom and his sister.. i'm not sure if they think i'm not good enough for him.. but they don't talk to me very much.. but then i don't talk to them much either.. as i'm still kinda shy.. and am unsure what to talk to them about..
my guess is try and be as nice to her as you can.. that way she has no reason not to like you
