Describe your respect for Congress overall on 1-10 scale?

Please provide numerical estimate and then please elaborate on what must be changed -- or not? Thank you. Collecting poll for my developing blog.

10 being high, 1 being low, I would say about -14.5

Realistically, I would say about a 1 1/2. I don't know how grown men and women could possibly lie to the public to get elected and then stand for NOTHING when they get to Washington. It seems like little or no good comes from Washington, just pork and waste.

I think Congress means the house of representatives AND the senate? The senators scare the hell out of me. except for two or three, they are an elite group of bombastic attorneys who have accumulated individual fortunes from their power and influence, plus the have far more power than average citizens realize. Reps are not nearly so rich and powerful unless they land a juicy job like speaker, or heads of crucial committees. but they are mostly lawyers like those in the senate. Now, do i respect them? Do i have a number for them? I will say that i don't respect them and i have no number between 1-10 to rate them. They are unfornuately the best that we can muster. Pathetic and foul people who offer little hope for this sinking nation.

Ten. This is the most Godly and hard working Congress in the history of the United States of America. We are doing so much all around the world and developing the greatest society the world has ever imagined. The U.S. has never been better off. Thank God for the Senators and Repressentatives who see to our welfare.

i hit upon this technique to be invalid. right here is the element. I would have to give them a 1. Non-binding resolutions. Wasting time on worthless questioning of Bush staff and Al Gore (and his fiction). Also, maybe because they are so busy with subpoenas, they have not accomplished one thing to help this country.

If we go back to the last Congress, Calling in the oil companies to chew on them about high prices when they did not have control of the price. Congress has more control if they would reduce restrictions on drilling in our on soil and off the coasts.

A 3 is what I would give them. They are getting that high of a ranking because they are breathing,dressed and reporting for duty. That is all they have accomplished. They are waisting time and money seeking revenge for Slick Willie Clinton on this attorney firing fishing expedition. They are going to waste their opportunity to do some good for their party while they control the Congress and I don't think that they care.

noty so good a couple of weeks ago with the non biding resolution crap. Then, it was a 3. Now with them standing up for what the american people have wanted (some questions answered about some pretty important, and until recently very seceretive, issues) I will give the an 8. But to try and grade their entire tenure at the first couple of months is premature. but I tried ;)

I love my country and without doubt is so great today because of our hardworking and brilliant leaders in the U.S. Congress and all those dedicated people they appoint to carry out their laws. Nobody can criticize the fine men in the Senate who come to serve when they could be enriching themselves as lawyers in the business world. Same said for the House, excepting that some of them aren't lawyers. I have to give a rating of Ten plus is my answer. Hooray for the "boys" on the hill. America we love it!

I am an attorney and most of the men in Copngress are also attorneys. I love these guys and hope to join them in the future. It is the heart of America. Like a living breathing heart of gold. I respect them to the highest degree and if all you offer is 10 will I must rate them one and all a 10!!!!!

they are trying to pass stupid laws like cant smoke in the car if there is kids in the car.
everyear they ask for more taxes. well dont ask they tell us were gonna pay more but the way I see it the only ones profiting from this is city, county, state workers. they get raises everyear with their unions, they have great insurance. But in the private sector I havent gotten a raise since 9/11 because my boss' rent went up the electric went up, insurance costs went up, natural gas went up. auto gas has went up he says he can 't afford to give us raises. On top of all that our insurance gets worse everyyear we pay more for less. deductible goes up , prescripts go up coverage goes down..
