No. In the 1990s tests were done that compared her DNA to that of known descendants of the Romanovs. The tests came back negative.
There is indeed quite a lot of anecdotal evidence to suggest that Anderson was in fact Anastasia, but such evidence by itself is considered inconclusive. Some members of the extended royal family, or former acquaintances, identified Anderson as the Grand Duchess, but even more denied that the two were the same person.
Modern supporters often ask how Anderson could know some of the things she knew about the people and events in the life of the real Anastasia. The response to that is that Anderson knew those things in the same way that anybody else could know them, that is, through histories, research, etc. If the supporters, who are not members of the Romanov family, could know something, then Anderson could know it, too.
It is easy for people who really want something to be true to mistake correlation for cause, to see similarities that may not actually exist, or to attribute significance to something which may be trivial. It would be very romantic to think that the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolayevna survived the brutal massacre of her family in the basement of that house in Yekaterinburg in 1918, but unfortunately it is probably just what it appears to be -- a romantic legend.

I find the whole subject kind of dead.
Although the Romanov grave was found, the body of one of the girls and of Alexei were not there. They may have been burned, both of them, as guards stated. It may be only one was burned and the other was missing. No one knows because not enough DNA evidence was found from the burned bodies. Those examining the remains, however, have stated it was the younger girl that wasn't there, not Anastasia.
As far as Anna Anderson is concerned, they have proved via DNA evidence that she was not Anastasia IF you believe the DNA sample used was actually hers. Far too much room for doubt.
Someone else has pointed out that Anna's patterns of speech and command of Russian was not in keeping with a royal child. Could be true. Since Anna is dead with no heirs and the Romanovs who denied her claim are also dead, I suggest the matter is best left to God.

No, I don't believe she was.
Anderson’s DNA sample did not match that of the Duke of Edinburgh ( whose maternal grandmother Princess Victoria was a sister of Alexandra, anastasias mother ) , meaning that if the tissue sample being tested belonged to Anderson, she could not have been Anastasia. There were also several strands of hair tested which produced the same mtDNA sequence as the tissue.
Aside of the DNA evidence, there are other discrepancies. Her size...wieght and height...are wrong. As extrapolated by computer using not only anastasias statstics but those of the Romanov line. Her facial bone structure. Her speech patterns showed none of the inflection or the usage that a child brought up among royalty would have shown, nor the particular accents from the region in which she lived. Even accounting for "exile, hiding and relocation." She was never able, or willing, to confirm details of what is known of Anastasia's life, nor would she ever confirm what is suspected of the deaths of the Romanovs other than what was popularly known.

No. Particularly in the post-Soviet period, there has been a great deal of inquiry into the evidence on the killing of the Tsar and his family. As far as I am aware, no evidence has been brought forward that suggests that Annastasia survived or tha the woman known as Anna Anderson was really Anastasia.

OOOH! The Romanovs - my typical subject rely in history! the final e book you will get on the Romanovs (and the only as much as this factor e book that discusses in intensity what befell on the night of the murders) is 'The destiny Of The Romanovs' which i think is written by ability of Greg King and Penny Wilson. The authors certainly have been given get right of entry to to a marvelous type of KGB documents that have not been seen for the final 80 years. so some distance as i comprehend they have confidence that they did locate the physique of Anastasia with interior the final 20 years however the physique of one of the sisters (Marie or Tatiana) became nevertheless lacking to boot as that of Alexei. They then discovered keeps to be at a different website which they now declare are the 'lacking' bodies. Anna Anderson became no longer Anastasia, besides the actuality that she had many people fooled, she does no longer positioned as much as DNA sorting out for the time of her lifetime yet after she died they went forward with the sorting out and located her to be unrelated to the Romanovs. yet heavily, study the e book i discussed, it incredibly is a huge study fantastically in case you do no longer certainly love cutting-side Russian history, even though it has better than you could think of approximately what 'extremely' befell. desire I helped! -Pascha by ability of ways, Anastasia became a Grand Duchess, no longer a princess. (there have been Russian princess' yet 'Grand duchess'' out rank them.)

It would be nice to think that someone survived, However several studies (and very detailed studies) have been done since the fall of the Soviet Union and it is without a doubt that the entire family was murdered and no one survived.
The cellar was examined, the bones were dug up, and those (who are still alive) who were there at the time have been interviewed. The official conclusion all dead.
But you can believe what you choose.

No. A DNA comparison with the blood of the Duke of Edinburgh and tissue from Anna Anderson proved conclusively that she had no genetic connection with the Romanov family.

No. I believe that this issue is no longer a speculative one. Forensic evidence from the scene of the Russian Imperial Family's execution and DNA evidence from both Anderson and those related to the now defunct Russian Imperial line, have determined that Anderson's claim is false. She may have believed herself to be the Grand Duchess, but in fact, she was not.
