I was wondering what in the heck happened in "Jericho". I know nukes went off, and now people are living in their little town-nations, but why don't they just go to the next town? I know it's in Kansas, so the next town is probably umpteen miles away, but still.....
The first episode I caught was the one where the "marines" came in. I know nothing of why the whole nation shut down, why communications are non-existent, etc. If you could catch me up to date of what happened until then, that would be awesome. Thanks!!!!

Check out the tv site for Jericho, it has recaps.
Basically, nukes went off all over the place. People are trying to survive in each town, so they would not move to another town. Also nearby towns have had people go and totally trash the place, and there is more order in Jericho than any nearby towns.
Comms are down because of nuclear explosions everywhere, so power and comms and many other things would be down.
