I am watching the old DVDs or Star Trek Voyager and was wondering saw that Kas left and Seven Joined and was wondering if anyone knew why or what caused this.

I mean what happened in the real world. I saw the her evolve on the show. Why did they remove the character?

From the Answers I got, I would say NO one knows the answer to the question. I saw the Show when Kas left, it was cool but she was written out of the script, this was not normal for her species, she turned into something really "power ful" OK well its was a great show, 40 years of Star Trek

The only information that I have been able to find is that Jennifer Lien (Kes) was allergic to the adhesive used for her prosthetics so wasn't able to play the role anymore.

the tv show was not getting the ratings that paramont and upn wanted so the started looking for something or someone to raise the ratings. that's why 7 of 9 was put on the cast.
i believe, but don't quote me on this, that the budget would only allow for nine main cast members, so someone had to be bumped. i think kes was just the easy one, cuz of her species background and storyline. hope this helps

Kes had to leave because her psycho-kenetic powers got too powerful on the ship, so she decided to leave, and pushed the Voyager 30,000 LY closer to home and out of Borg space.

It's something that happens to her species.
She disappeared into a pool of light, and sent Voyager 10 light years nearer home.

Kas's race was said to have short life spans of only a few years,so she died.They brought on Seven as another strong female role.Plus Jeri is really HOT!!!!!!!!

she was a mean drunk on the set so they fired her and voyager sucks it killed star trek for me watch ds9 it was the best
