(Sigh) The reason there is a focus on "black on black violence" is because it is more prevalent. Statistically speaking black people are more likely to commit a crime against another black person.

Black people focus on black on black violence because it is a very pressing issue in the black community.

There are several movements where the objective is to end violence against women (i.e. rape, domestic violence) and those groups have been praised fot their activism.

I think it is wrong of you to trivialize something that is meant to bring about positive change.

Agreed- all violence has to stop. Black on Black violence is usually a term spoken by black people to say that crime amongst themselves has to stop. They are not trying to segregate themselves, seem superior, nor say that black on white violence should continue. The fact is Blacks fought a long time to get their civil rights and they think it's outrages that they should be united instead they're killing each other. They want to make their communities and children aware of their past struggles and make them realize it wasn't for nothing. They are speaking out about violence on blacks To blacks. I hope, you're not so close-minded to understand what they are trying to achieve. :)

Agreed all forms of violence should ideally stop.

The term Black on Black violence is nothing but a term created by people who want to segregate the US community.

Terms such as white on white or black on white are all terms that only exacerbate segregation, because the physical qualities of a person is reinforced.

Black on black violence is predominant in the US, this is why there's a term for it. Unity among a discriminated group such as black people, will eventually lower the violence among themselves. I agree with you Violence has to stop all together, but to stop violence, one must start from the home itself, all the way to the country.

I think the moment that comments like this without any backup to support it ends then the inaccurate conclusion that there are differences between races will end as well. I for one am tired of being told there is a difference. People are all more alike than they are different. Once society, people, the media and society stops labeling that there is a difference then we’ll move on to a much more peacefully accepting society. Enough is enough.

By saying black on black violence has to stop ....
It's giving a wink and a nod that black on white is o.k.
