it is proper to dress for the theatre. You don't have to go completely all out, but wear what you would to church, on a date, or to an interview.

:D i'm going to see phantom of the opera in vegas this summer too! some outfit ideas could be: dark skinny jeans with some nice high heels and a dressy-ish top with a sweater and bag, or you can wear a skirt. something around there, you don't want to show up in a long dress, that would be crazy! its in-between casual & dressy, have fun!

Formal wear, definitely. For a girl that usually means an evening dress or a smart pant-suit.

Just dress for the theater, preferably well, and not what passes for dressing for the theater these days. Make it comfortable. It is a long show.
