Plug your ipod shuffle into your computer. The itunes window should pop up. If it doesn't then just go to itunes. On the left hand side there should be options. One of them should say "Devices", and show a picture of your ipod. Click on that. Then it should show you your ipod and how much stuff its in it. Below the ipod picture it should say "Restore". That will set everything to factory setting. Meaning it will delete all your songs and pictures. If you just want to delete selected songs then go to "Music". Should be one of the other options on the left hand side. Uncheck the ones you don't want and sync your ipod again. For free music go to limewire. That's the only place. I still wouldn't do that because my friend did that and it put a virus on her computer. When you finish downloading your music. Unplug your ipod and the songs should appear on your ipod. Good Luck! Email me if you have any questions.

To take songs off, open up itunes on your computer and delete the songs. They'll be removed from your ipod the next time you sync.

To get free songs, try some podcasts. I get several: BBC homegrown, which is hip-hop and R&B; Indiefeed, which is oldies and alt rock from the USA; and Unsigned, which is alt rock from the UK. Here's how to add podcasst to your shuffle: http://macs.about.com/od/ipod/qt/ipod_audiobooks.htm

If you want mainstream, hits, or anything that comes from a record label, you need to pay.
