My sex drive is higher than my husbands? I read all these things on the web about women with low sex drives, but not the other way around. Am I just strange?

How old are you? A woman peeks sexually in her 30's while a guy peeks at 18 and early 20's.

The idea that only men have a high sex drive is a bunch of crap and no doubt comes from the fact that guys reach the peak of their own sexual desire - their libido - earlier in life than do you ladies. Guys peak between the ages of 19 to 25 while you ladies generally peak between 28 and 35. Once the dust has settled - get 10,000 males and the same number of females and you'll find the same number have a high libido and the same number have a low libido - and ditto all the shades in between. You'd better hope your husband has a high libido as well, because you more than likely haven't reached you peak yet. Also, if you'd read some of the questions which appear here on Answers almost on a daily basis, you'd soon learn a lot of women are complaining because their husbands' libido has gone south and they want sex more than ever.

I've found that the older a woman gets the more her sex drive revs up and the opposite holds true for me. It's a fact that women peak later than men. Men usually peak around 17-25 (if not earlier).
And like Hamm42 states...the same goes for me....Marry me??!! LOL

I am the same way!!! I have actually come to the conclusion that society programs men to believe they have to have a high sex drive to be a MAN but most of them don't live up to it.
While outside the bedroom, my man acts like he wants it all the time but the reality is that he is good with 3-5 times a week while I could go twice a day!

No, you are not strange, I think it is more common for men to complain about it, but there are women out there in the same situation. The best thing to do is talk to him about it, see if he is willing to step up and make love to you more often. If he isnt, you may need to get yourself a toy to take matters into your own hands. There are many men out there, me included, who wish their wives had a high sex drive, he should feel lucky.

You're not strange at all, it's wonderful that you are in full touch with your sexuality and sensuality. Women's sex drives are just as high as men's , most societies just indoctrinate out of most women unfortunately. Thankfully, that is nolonger the case, or at least starting to change in many countries

Embrace and revel in your sensuality, and enjoy your most fortunate bounty :)

Depends on what you call "strange." It is not unusual for one or the other to have a higher sex drive than the other, what is "unusual" is when one is not "satisfied" with the "amount" of sex. You did not state how "often" you "share" yourselves to each other and "assume," to you, it is not "enough." Seek advice from a trained professional "if" it begins to hurt your marriage.

Actually as men and women age there are challenge to the sex drive. Women's drive usually decreases from menopause, oddly their drive somewhat increases once it has past.

Many men, not all, experience drops in the testosterone (hormone controlling sex drive) levels in the 40's. These drops are encouraged by conditions of heart disease or diabetes. Men can take testosterone supplements, just as menopausal women take estrogen supplements.

You are not strange. What you have noticed is not uncommon, you may want your husband to have his testosterone level checked by his physician.

No, I am the same way. I have more of a sexual drive than my hubby but there are rare times when my hubby is in the mood but I'm not; especially after we had kids. It's not strange, it's just not mentioned alot. Ever notice that surveys are usually geared to something negative and the positive surveys turnouts are usually not mentioned at all.

It depends what you mean by unusual. It is less common then the husband being frustrated, but it happens relatively often.

I'd guess there might be a million US women in your position ... and 30 million US men.
