My baby was delivered by C-section 10 months ago and I still get pain across the scar and my skin on my stomach above the scar is sore to the touch?it also hurts when my children sit on my knee and lean too far back on my tummy.
It seems to be lasting 4 ever...Has anyone else had or got this problem? And is there any lotions and potions I can buy to help it out?

I have had to c-sections and the area does stay tender for awhile...this does seem excessively long to me thou, I would go see the dr. My main issue was numbness and I still have that one 6yrs later.

At 10 months I still didn't have feeling around the scar - numb for I don't know how long! Even now - nearly 3 years on - there are still sections that I have no feeling in. It was sore as you describe in the lower tummy for a long long time and I dreaded seeing the kids coming up for a cuddle and I still get twinges when I move the wrong way too fast. Seems to be worse too around the time of the month. The best bit was about 18months after the op having 7" of 'dissoluble' suture work its way out!
Vit E is good for repairing the scar tissue but I don't know about the discomfort side.
It will pass - just takes time.

Enjoy your baby - it's all worth it in the end!x

I have had 3 C-sections i had the first one in 97 the second one in 04 n then again in 06.The first time i had a ceaser i remember the pain around the stitches never went away and now its a lil more sharp then what it used to be.The pain only comes when i am lying down and move to the other side..or whenever i sneeze...or cough. The pain i know will probably stay on but i am hoping the intensity will drop with time passing by .I dont know of any portions or lotions that could help..but i am assuming that after a certain while some floor excersices that make the stomach muscles strong..might help a little.

I had my son by emergency c section, my tummy was tender for years. I've just recently started getting feeling back in the lower part. My doctor said it was normal, because the nerves have the grow back together. I guess you could try lotion that has a pain killer in it like what you'd put on scrapes or cuts. don't know that it would work. My doc prescribed me 800mg motrin beacause I had a lot of scar tissue. You may want ot talk to your gyn and see what they have to say. Sorry couldn't be more help. Good Luck!

Mine was 11 years ago and I still have no feeling across the scar and occasionally it has twinges of pain in that area. There is a gel you can get to help minimize scarring called Mederma but as if it will help any of your symptoms...that I cannot answer. My muscles in that area are very insensitive and I have since gained a lot of fat in that area because I cannot adequately work the muslces. And sometimes it itches crazy - like under the skins - and I can never scratch it because it's numb ! Ahh the joys of childbirth :)

I had my daughter ten months ago too via c-section. And yes the scar still hurts when it is pressed on. I think that this is because they cut through muscles which take time heal. I do not know about anything other that taking your vitamins especially C and E to help with the scar tissue.

I had a c-section and it hurt for a long time but not for 10 months! Did you get a bikini line cut?? I used to rub coco butter cream on the scar..it helped to make the scar less thick and noticeable. As far as the pain goes I would definitely see my OB/GYN and speak to him(or her) about it......you should not be experiencing pain 10 months after.

I had a C-Section in 2003, and i still get pain there at times. I think it is down to the scar tissue underneath, it has eased with time but occasionally it does play up.

i have had 2 normal deliverys and one c- cection i had my baby on the 3rd of march 2006. i still have those pains you are talking about and have been to doctors about it. i have been told that as there is noe scar tissue inside this may somtimes be steached causing the pain u r describing! i also have friend who has this pain and it gets worse just before and during period and she has been told it is because they have cut one of her nerves, and that if the problem perists for longer than 2 years she will need corrective surgery. i would say the best thing u can do if u feel the pain is really bad consult ur doctor and ask his/her advice

I had 2 c-sections but do not remember pain lasting that long. My scar still feels weird to the touch, and sometimes feels like its itching but I cannot feel it when I scratch. But no, nothing like what your describing. I would see a Dr.
best of luck!

you have to remember a c section is a huge operation they have cut through your stomach muscles as well as the womb to get to your baby, it takes a while to heal and I'm still numb in the lower part of my tummy after 10 yrs but that's due to all the nerves that get cut in the process but apart from that things do heal and the pain does go
