No, I simply want the freedom to be myself....like I used to be. That is where my unhappiness comes from.

No way. At 44 I am finally comfortable in my own skin. I have learned that I'm a pretty terrific person, with a lot of life experience and knowledge. I am happy and just a nice person to be around. I have a great family with whom I actually enjoy spending time. I spent the first half of my life wishing I were someone else, but those life experiences have shaped me into who I am today. I went through the refiners fire and am better for having had those experiences. It makes me very empathetic for others around me who have their own crosses to bear.
Hang in there and just remember, this too shall pass...

how about change a few things in my life that make me unhappy. i don't really want to change me all that much, it's the other stuff.

No. I am so comfortable in my skin now. I like who am I, what I do, and who surrounds me. For the most part, I've made good decisions in my life and have avoided drama and instability. I do wish I could be more spontaneous.
