It wouldn't be a bad idea. It might cost you a bit more but if you have insurance then it would cover it. I have had my throat swabbed everytime I went to the doctor with a sore throat and I have never once had Strep Throat. I've only ever had really really bad Upper Respartory Infections. Good Luck. Oh yeah by the way it could just be allergies doing that. I know alot of people in Amarillo (where I live) are getting sore throats and other cold like symptoms, but here a lot of it is just allergies. I know of one product that works very well for Allergies. I've used it for quite some time. You may want to check out Allernone.com. It's always worked for me.

Suck on something hard.
A piece of peppermint candy will do. If it's still sore after a couple of hours, see a doctor. Don't waste your money on throat lozenges, they have no medicinal value whatsoever.
