Right now I have a Maya Wrap but it needs too much adjusting and she feels a little wobbly.

I also have an Infantino that works well but squishes her head a little.

Please help! I've got to get more stuff done.

Get a Baby Bjorn! they are truly the best. Although, 20 pounds is getting a little heavy to tote. Maybe you also need an umbrella stroller.

Oh so glad you asked! I just bought my 20 pound six monther an Ergo Baby. OMG..the minute I put it on it was like all the weight was just lifted away! It distributes the majority of the baby's weight to your hips..makes it so much easier.
It is a little pricey..$92..but you can use it for a few years..front, side, back carrying. Even my 12 year old can use it to carry her little bro. And he is a solid chunk!
Not sure your weight..but I am a little chubby so I got the waist extender and it works just fine. I did dishes and laundry and cooked dinner all with him strapped to my back! Comes in several cute colours and each one has a little headrest attached that you can fold into the pouch when it's not needed. It's free shipping..and we ordered it on Sunday and got it Tuesday! Good Luck!

We are going to a Ren-Faire in a few weeks..it will be so much easier toting him this way than the Bjorn! Bjorn's are great for smaller babies but not the big ones!

They seem to have good resale value too..I wish I had gotten this one first..you can purchase a little infant adapter for the wee ones. Considering I paid $79 for the Bjorn that he outgrew in 2 months!

Oh, I feel you! I have a baby bjorn and in my opinion it's way too much money for a carrier that kills your back! My daughter is just under 17lbs, and it's already hurting after an hour or two. I'm assuming you plan on using it a lot. Check out this site with wonderful and CUTE baby carriers: http://www.babyhawk.com/

I would say at this point you need to skip the sling and get a "Platex Hipster" it positions the child on your hip and requires no hands holding the child when in use. They are avaliable pretty much everywhere (Walmart, Kmart, Toys R Us)

The ergo is a good suggestion... what about a mei tai? (sp?) Check out 'thebabywearer.com' for more ideas!
