My son was started on Rice Cereal at 4 months....then we moved onto fruits and veggies. HOWEVER, until 1 year a childs main source of nutrition should be breast milk or formula. Now that has been said, this is what I did with my son....he would eat a bit of cereal in the morning...then a full bottle.....for lunch a little fruit and a little veggie...then a full bottle...for dinner he gets meat (if your child is old enough), a little fruit and a little veggie...then half a bottle...then he gets another full bottle before bedtime. Once again, your child's main source of nutrition should be formula....the other is just practice.

When I started my daughter on Baby food, my ped told me to start with the vegetables then, move to the meats and do the fruits last. Add a new one ever 2 -5 days because of allergies. do this until your baby is eating a variety of different things. The rice cereal should have been the very first thing to be introduced to your baby. I would not worry too much about the variety during meal times. Right now just get you baby use to eating the food. If you have introduced Carrots and Peas to your baby and want to feed then this for dinner, then do it. It won't hurt them. My doctor told me to do it this way so that their taste buds mature well also. If you feed your child Applesauce before carrots, they may not eat the carrorts because the applesauce is so much sweeter and tastier. Hope this helps. Don't stress about it.

I think you should go with what you feel comfortable feeding your child. I never gave my little girl three things to eat when she first started on solids because like yours, she only ate a little bit at a time. Maybe mix in some fruit with the cereal, but I think you should always start with vegetables so that the baby does not get used to sweet food.
I think giving cereal in the bottle is not a good idea. Keep the cereal in the bowl so that she can get used to it. Formula has enough nutrition in it for her to stay healthy. Remember that introducing solids can take a while before the baby gets used to it.

Are you doing what you feel is right for your child? Is your child happy and overall in good health and does what your doing work for you? If you answered yes to these questions then you are doing everything just fine. I agree with you that cereal/fruit/veggie is a bit much for any baby especially one that is new to solids. Both my children either got fruit or veggie when we first started off not both at one time until a little later. I dont know why your giving your daughter cereal in her bottle does she have reflux or not able to properly swallow thin liquids? If she's getting enough formula and she's doing "ok" with her new soilds you could probley cut that part out. She wont starve to death sweet heart her main source of nutrition right now should be her formula so keep offering it to her as you did prior to her starting soilds. You will both catch on I promise

Cereal is a filler, alot of parents are starting to skip it all together now. Its has iron, and thats about it.
And your not "suppose" to put cereal in bottles because your baby needs to get used to eating with a spoon, and with a bottle its obviously easier for the baby to eat, and then you lower the success rate of your baby eating solids normally.
As for eating amounts of baby foods, how old is your baby? It takes awhile for them to get used to eating solids, its a different texture. And sometimes their just not that interested. The best thing you can do (atleast from my experience) is feed your baby at the dinner table when everyone else is eating dinner.
This gets your baby interested in food, because she is watching everyone else eat. And she or he, should start smacking his lips, or doing a scream for food, and thats when you practice giving them solids.
Dont worry your baby will be eating like a champ in no time.

When she eats baby food and you give her a bottle with
cereal in ti, it may be too much for her. Maybe you should try giving her a little juice or just the formula with no cereal.
Don't listento what every one tells you. Do what you feel is
right for your baby and take her at your own pace. Feed her things whenever you feel she's ready for them.

You shouldnt ever give a baby a bottle with cereal in it. Its dangerous and can lead to over eating and obesity later in life.
As for the baby food... jarred food is like canned veggies... kinda tatses the same, but lacking all of the nutrition. Give her fresh... and let her pace herself and deside how much she wants... it sounds like she may not really be ready for solids.
Give her as much formula as she wants, WITHOUT cereal. Cereal is just baby junk food.
ETA: i forgot about babyfood meat... BLECH! That is just discusting!!!
