has anyone ever applied for AirCheck Texas, repair assistance program?

i read about it online and have just applied, but was wondering what others have done and how the process works, and what out-of-pocket expenses are there.

we have only one code coming from the diagnostics, P0401...relating to the EGR valve. we will have to hire a mechanic to get all the tests and repairs just so we can pass the emissions tests to get our state inspection sticker. mechanics wouldn't give us a definite estimate, so we had to apply for assistance through this program.
