u will need a dsl or a broandband connection and also a wireless router...

Do you have access to a wireless network at home?
You'll need to turn on the wireless connection settings in the router, enable the security, write down your pass phrase or all those letters/numbers the router generates.
Turn on your laptop, use the Config free utility that Toshiba gives you and when it finds the wireless network, you simply enter in the passphrase and your on.
You can read more about it in the help file loaded with Config free, or go to the Toshiba website its all there.

You might need to setup a Wireless Network at home or you can also use wired...Sometimes you just need to find hotspots...maybe your neighbor has wireless internet which you can use off of them...
