Right on! I couldn't agree with you more. As a matter of tax payer money (it costs us, the tax contributors, $52,000 a year to house an inmate), I would execute anyone convicted of rape, incest, bestiality, child pornography, murder, and a host of others. Oh, and no death row or appeals, lethal injections or any other humane methods of ridding society of this scum, just a good ole rope and the nearest tree in a public square!

"Demon" has hit the nail squarely on the head.
We live in an imperfect world, where people (which include, believe it or not, police, and juries) make mistakes. That being so, it is inevitable that innocent people sometimes get convicted of those hateful crimes.
You may recall that Sally Clark has recently, and most regrettably, died following her eventual release from prison.
You may also be aware that she was not released until evidence was produced at her SECOND appeal which had been concealed from her original trial, and which exonerated her.
You may further be aware that several other women, in similar circumstances, have had their convictions overturned in the court of appeal.
You may know that quite a number of men jailed for sexually abusing children, have been released following appeals which showed that they had been wrongly imprisoned.
Don't go for caveats like "beyond any reasonable doubt", as often happens in this forum.
The British judicial system only convicts people who are guilty "beyond any reasonable doubt" - but mistakes still happen.
Unless, and until, you and your righteous fellow thinkers can bring YOUR victims back from the dead, society cannot kill them on your behalf, because some of those people will, inevitably, be innocent.
It really is no good saying "sorry we got it wrong in your case" to a corpse.

Because paedophilia is a mental illness.
I'm not saying what they do is right, its disgusting, but as someone above said (and consequently got 10 thumbs down) it is a deviation.

If paedophiles were castrated, some problems would be solved.

Biggest problem is that in the UK, since we don't hang any more, it wouldd be hard to persuade the EU to allow us to do that again.

But, that's another question...

Look - they clearly have something wrong with them mentally, as many have acknowledged that they don't want to be doing what they're doing. But they don't get any help in jail, so they don't get better.

The whole point of jail is rehabilitation. We (and by 'we' i mean 'you, and the people who run the jail services') seem to have forgotten that.

I think they deserve it.
A child has no idea in what they're doing(I think it can ruin their future).
Adults should know better.

Taking advantage of innocent the minds of little kids.
That's just outrageous.
PS: Life sentence in prison is much worse than a death penalty(although I want to see them dead right there and then).

Because of an old law from King Harold's time, that's still on the statute books:

"Thou shalt not put to death any man if thou cannot spell thine appellation"

It is morally wrong to take anyones life, but I agree paedophiles are unlikely to change and do pose an ongoing threat to children so life should mean life when they go to prison not 9 months!!!

sWell, you're correct, but some member of society think that execution is wrong - no matter what the reason. Of course, one of their children has most likely never been sexually abused and killed by a pedophile.
If the pedophile abused and killed a child, then the sentencing after a trial and review should be execution.

yes but its not very productive punishment is it? it will hardly stop others from re-offending as unfortunately it is in their nature (the irony of death row anyone?)
best thing is for them to have a severe beeating from the parents of the child they have raped on a daily basis
Any idiot can die

I think they should be given a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Stealing a child's innocence and screwing up the rest of their life should not be taken lightly. I don't personally have a problem with pedophiles getting the death penalty.
