It is really depends on your dog ...some get car sick :S (been there done that ) If you think your dog is going to be alight then it should be fine to take her with you. Make sure that make LOTS of quick stops to let her walk and relive her self. Sometimes vets can give you medications( Natural if possible) to prevent them from getting car sick. It is sort of like gravol for us ( DO NOT GIVE HER GRAVOL!!) My husband and took our dog on a trip ( about 4 hrs) and he got sick on the way up. I thought about my own car sickness ( with my car sickness ...its everything moving really fast out the windows that makes me feel yucky and only when I am in the back seat)and I thought that maybe if I cover the windows he might not get sick ...luckily it worked because I didn't want to clean that up.

It is Okay, There is nothing wrong with travelling with your pet as long as you stop every 1 1/2 or 2 for a quick stop of 10-15 minutes, let her drink a bit of water run around, and potty if she needs too. I sugggest you buy her one of those bone that has maple flovored meat in it. (don't remember what they are called) but she will try to eat the meat out for a very long time which will keep her occupied. The only problem you might have is if you don't travel much with her, she may get sick. Go to your local pet shop and talk to someone about it, there may be some type of medicine to give to your dog just to make sure she doesn't get sick. I'm sure she would love to go on a trip with you! Good luck and have a great time.

If she does ok in the car on short trips, she'll be fine. Dogs can learn to love being in the car. I have had to drive across the country several times since I've gotten my dog, and although some people think it's mean to have a dog when you are travelling alot, she loves travelling with me. She sits like a little kid in the back seat and stares out the window.

Well if you have never taken her in the car it may be a problem. I have 3 labs. 2 will ride anytime and anywhere but 1 want get in a car, never has.I fight him just to go to the vet. I'd try it..Take some Dramamine for car sickness just in case .But you should always start your dog out in a car very young.

Some dogs do like traveling. Just like children dont forget the lunch and items that are easy on the stomach, stop ever so often, feed water and of course the pooper scooper leash and carrier. Back seat is proble the best. And be careful of the mites that might enter your dogs eyes and ears if windows are rolled down.

She will love the car ride, just have your car window rolled down a bit so she can get some fresh air. Plus pay attection to her as best as you can as she will show you signs that she needs a washroom break. But more then likely you will be stopping for a lunch break depending on what time you leave your place, plus you will need to stop to give her water unless you take one of her bowls and a few bottles of water in the car with you.

If she hasn't ridden before, not a good ideal trip to make for the first time. Dogs do get car sick. Is your friend okay with her comming? If she just has to go there is a pill you can get from the vet to keep her from getting sick( belive me that does not make for a good trip). Maybe it would be best to leave her at the kennel. Also some dogs go crazy in a car ( if they aren't used to riding) and could cause a accident.

My dogs love to ride in the car. Just stop every few hours about 2 to 3 and let her have a walk and some exercise. I wouldn't feed her right before the ride in case she gets car sick. She should be fine.

I drove my 12 year-old dog to Florida and back (I live in Pennsylvania, so that’s quite a drive) and she was fine. Lots of bathroom breaks and drinks, but she didn’t seem to have a problem with the ride at all.

If your dog is ok with being in the car, everything should be fine.

Just be careful because if she isn't used to car rides, she may get carsick. She might do this on the ride, or after you get to your friends house! If she goes on car rides often, I would take her. But if she isn't used to it, I would leave her behind. It really doesn't cost too much to have dogs boarded.
