I want to be egg donor and I want to get other people's views on the topic whether it be good or bad. I mean I know if I was to take part in it I may think about the fact that I have a child somewhere in the world, but at the same time I'm helping other Women have children that really can't. I just want to know I am helping other people and I think this could be a good way. I want to know if anyone has done this and what are your opinions on it?

I am actually beginning the process of being an egg donor i am now just waiting for my next cycle to start so that i can submit the appropriate blood work. I have attended a very in depth information session with the program officials in my area and it just seems like a wonderful thing to do. I am very excited to be doing this and i hope that i make it through the entire process. It is something that you should look into and you should call your local egg donor and attend thier information session. They will answer all of your questions and let you know any of the risks....good luck!

I have not done it, but I've thought about it because of the money, when I was in college. I've read that it's very painful for the donor. You have to go through several medical procedures over the course of a month, where they force your body to release several eggs, not just one. It can be traumatic even. If you really want to, why not? I guess it would be fine as long as you're ready to endure some work and pain for the money. There are many people that want to carry a child, but I also think there are so many babies out there who already exist and need families. It's a tough call, but read up on the procedure and make sure it's something you can bear.

You really need to make sure that this is for you and you can handle everything that goes with it mentally and physically. If you haven't had any other children this may not be such a good idea you may want to wait until later on down the road because of the drugs that you are going to have to take and so forth. Also, if you are doing mostly for financial gain I wouldn't recommend it either. If you really want to do it and it is for all the right reasons I think that is very admirable of you. I am a former fertility patient and I can relate with infertile woman that would love to have one of your eggs.
