Cognitive therapy, it's recognizing the negative thoughts and turning them to positive, yes easier said than done. With practise it becomes easier. Also meditation is helpful, Jon Kabat- Zinn has some really helpful meditation Cd's on this and 10 to 15 minutes a day will help with the negatives a lot. You are not alone. Take Care and remember if you can, that for every negative there is a positive.

Negative thoughts come to us all. That's going to happen no matter what. The effort I think or skill that you're asking for is how to turn that around to positive? Every single day you have to ask yourself what you are grateful for? What in your life has meaning to you? Write those down. The act of writing a simple message to you is so powerful. A kinetic connection to your brain and your subconscious. It's important to recognize the good things that you have all around you and not wallow in the bad. It’s easy to wallow when you feel badly about your life choices. But it is equally easy to write down one or two things that you’re happy about as well. When you do the point of view your subconscious has will begin to change. Baby steps. One sentence, one happy moment or event at a time, and your perspective will change. It will not happen all in one day, one week or even one month. Surround yourself with that you enjoy. Take a break from that which causes you pain. You’ll see the light.

It sounds a bit bonkers but I have being trying to do this to. For example I am trying to get pregnant so instead of thinking "I am not pregnant" I have got to replace this negative thought with a positive one and the positive one is " I want to be pregnant" another example which might be easier for you to relate to is "my car is no good it keeps breaking down" change it to "I want a new car" or you cant be bothered to do any exercises should be changed to "I want to get fit". I go to Reiki and it its all about being in tune with what you want and what your saying, I hope this makes sense and you dont think i am weirdo, maybe get a book on positive thinking.

Life is essentially about survival and success requires energy and skills.
Apply yourself to learning and mastering skills.
No one is born knowing how to drive a car or do the maintenance.
No one is born a good musician or artist .
No one is born knowing how to manage $$$ or a budget.
ALL things are learned , and focusing on increasing your skills, will make life easier as you go.
ALSO , learn to eat healthy to keep your energy up for all these tasks . . .
Maybe even sign up for a martial arts class to develop your physical abilities as well as your mental ones .
Common exercise , like those done at gyms , is toooo boring to stick with , find a sport like swimming ? volleyball ? or the martial arts ? that have a purpose and recreational value .
Everyone is rubbish at things in the beginning ,
It is those that invest time in learning that advance beyond that .

Some people do it naturally, but if you can't try assessing the situation and then make a conscious effort to take the most positive spin on it. It might take practice, but you'll start finding it easier.

You can't choose your thoughts - but you can choose their reaction to them. Catch yourself having a negative reaction, and make a decision to change that reaction to a positive one. You control you. Noone else. Decide that's the way you plan to live your life, and be that person.

Why change the negative thoughts? We all have them. All you can do is try to turn negative thoughts into positive actions.
Aka...Life gives you lemons, make lemonade
