These are the words of a Republican Senator today.

So because it's inconvenient... we shouldn't question our government? We can spend billions of dollars a month on a war that seems hopelessly mismanaged, but we can't spend any money at all to investigate whether the President of the United States did something unethical?

And whether he did or not, I would think it's money worth spent, because it's an investigation into the integrity of the leadership of this nation. If he didn't do anything wrong, it will clear that up. If he did, it will bring that to light.

Agree?

So, what Bush did was illegal? Against the Constitution? I think the point everyone is missing is that regardless of why those attorneys were replaced, Bush doesn't have to answer to Congress. The Constitutional issue arises when the Bush Administration fights the Congress' "right" to question staffers on their actions, on an issue where a law has not been broken.

So what happens if Rove says, yes we fired those b*st*rds because we didn't like their political ideology? What are you going to do? It's not illegal...what Bush asked them to do was not illegal...and where do those pushing this inquisition get off questioning Bush's actions when most of them were in office will Clinton fired ALL the attorneys...while they sat silent?

The democrats are pushing an issue that is not really valid. The attorney's are political appointments and any president can fire them at any time for political reasons. Several presidents in the past have fired the attorneys and one democratic president even fired all 93.

This is the democratic strategy of just bashing Bush. They have no agenda for this country and it is revenge for Bush winning the White House over Gore and Kerry.

These people were fired for political reasons and since they are political appointees and not civil servents, they do not have to follow the typical hiring/firing scenarios of other government workers.

Well, we are going to get one regardless of what he thinks, and I fully support it. The corruption of this administration will only end if people are held accountable for their actions.
