Blah, blah, blah! Why don't you say what you really want to say and that is this, "I hate George W. Bush". Grow a set of stones and just say it and stop trying to hide behind some question about farmers. George W. Bush doesn't control the money.

That is my view exactly on that issue.
I have seen so many farms in Racine Wisconsin turn into little Chicago. The houses they built on the farmers fields were more expensive than a Wisconsin income could purchase.
I also agree that he has a aversion to the American people and has consistently shown it by only backing the top 1%.
BS to the trickle down effect of the Regan era.

farming isn't on his agenda and to help them create bio-diesel would be going against the very grain of what he's trying to accomplish in the 1st place, help his friends and his own pocket in the oil business. look at the gas companies, they have had record breaking profits over the last couple of years. one after another. and the whole war is really about the oil and his money comes from oil. Sooooooo, what do u think?

I'm not that familiar with farm subsidies anymore. But I know that many of them were once paid not to grow crops. Why not simply pay them to grow the crops that are best for the production of ethanol? Continue the payments until the demand is sufficient to make the increased crop output profitable. And then use those funds for something else.

To Bush, "farming" is something done by Archer Daniels Midland or ConAgra or Cargill or the like. I don't think he understands or cares for small farms or small business. He's out to aid and protect the CEO class only.
update (for Centurion): I Hate George W Bush.
He may not control the money, but he certainly is asking Congress to spend a lot of it in Afghanistan and Iraq. I guess when he said he opposed "nation building" he meant domestically.

Hmmmm....
Why should my tax dollars go to people in a business who cannot support themselves without my tax dollars? What is this welfare stuff?
And which clause of the Constitution says that the peoples' money should go towards what should be a private business?
--------------
Uh-oh, I didn't emotionally sympathize with people who believe I should feed their families with my tax dollars so they can "live" off the land (and out of my wallet). How horrible of me!
But ask yourselves - are we a nation of laws, with the Constitution being the laws of the land? Because, Constitutionally, these people have no right to the money I've earned, and the Federal government has no right taking my money from me to give to them.
Don't believe me? Read the document, tell me where it mentions farm subsidies. You won't find it. Then tell me why the 10th Amendment isn't applicable to this situation.
Try using facts, logic, and law, not emotion.
