Yes. He does. That's been the driving force behind his entire Presidency - his assumption that all of the American people are ignorant.

OK think about what you are all saying for just a minute.
You all claim the whole administration is a bunch of liars, so what makes you think that they would be afraid to lie under oath ?
Maybe there is another reason, like he is not required by law to answer to congress for firing U.S. Attorneys. If he caves on this it gives the power to congress. That is not the way it is suppose to work, that is not the way it is set up in the constitution.
Congress has the power to approve U.S. Attorneys he appoints and that is all. They recently revised the patriot act to give them back that power. Now what they should be requesting is to approve the attorneys that are being appointed and leave it go.
As for all the people on here that say it was politically motivated, so what. When the president changes all of them at the beginning of a term their replacements are picked because of there political beliefs.

Nah, he's an Ivy Leaguer born with a silver spoon in his mouth, so the turnip truck cliche does not prepare. yet, now he's all grown up and with a foot in his mouth quite of a silver spoon. And if he did fall off any vans, i might desire it would be on a great highway, with some semis coming good up at the back of him!

The turnip truck is still dropping people off...
There are plenty of people here on yahoo that have been spun into mixing up the replacement of attorneys at the beginning of an administration with the firing of these 8 attorneys.
- who had good reviews and records but were slandered with claims of poor performance - damaging their careers
- some of whom had been approached by Republican members of congress to influence prosecutions
- one of which was about to issue subpoenas for associates of Tom Delay

Put ice on that bump on your head that you got when you fell off the truck yesterday. It will take the swelling down so you can think straight.

Did you hit your head on the way out of the truck? You are seriously using a cartoon link to prove your point! To answer your question - the only people that fell off the "turnip truck" are the ones that believe in the absurd conspiracy theories.

It does seem that this Administration believes that the American public is either too afraid or too uninformed to take any action against the everincreasing scandals and the coverups they manufacture.

Because they are all liars. They should just testify under oath, everyone knows they will lie then too, I don't know why they are making such a fiasco out of this....
They all are such good "Christians" aren't they?

No, what he thinks is we all just came into town on a bus. He don't want his people to testify because he is afraid one of them will rat him out. He has plenty to worry about to as his motives for starting a war on the Iraqi people are still really unclear.
