So many new businesses fail, that if you've been out of the game that long, it's probably not the best time to go for it.

Although many jobs starting out may not be up to your standards, it does get you in the door, and you can quickly advance. Another option is to do temping. I used to do that while I was a college student and I got many offers of permanent jobs resulting from that. The most important thing is to get a foot in the door so your abilities will be recognized and you'll be able to apply for better positions within the same company.

Well... My wife was a stay at home mom for 9 years, and when it came time for her to go back to work she really didn't have the skills or experience to get a decent paying job. She worked at a gas station for a little while, but was making just enough to pay for the child care so it was pointless. We were introduced to a wonderful opportunity and started our own business that we run from home. There are so many skeptics out there. And most of them do not know anything about what they are saying. Half of all US businesses are HOME BASED. and its a 240 BILLION dollar a year industry. We choose one in the the health and wellness industry and now market an amazing new fuctional health beverage. We all are healthier and working on becoming a bit wealthier. It's scary for some to start a business. If I could get a phone interview with you or something I may be able to open your eyes to something that might be just what your looking for. Whatever you decide to do, good luck to you and your family. feel free to call me anytime. Take the first step and research some good ideas. Make the call.

I have been a stay at home mom for 4 years and I love it. I too am scared about the jobs that are out there cause they dont pay much. I do home daycare and bring in more money than I could get paid working for someone else. I also have a side job making candles and selling them and I do scrapbooking desings for people. It is your choice but if you can find something you can do from home that you enjoy then start making money off of it. Why do something you dont like and have someone tell you how to do and not get paid what you should when you can work in the comfort of your own home be your own boss and make as little or much money as you want? Obciously money cant be that big of an issue if you have been at home that long. You just need something to make a little extra.

You could do both if you budget your time. You could open a pawn shop and run it several hours a day or in the eveniing.
and work part time in an office at the same time.
However if you have the means to further your education to get a higher paying job I would suggest that option.
You may be able to run a pawn shop and go to school for adult education in your area to learn a new trade.
You don't mention your age or where you are from, but I'm guessing that you may be in your late 20's or 30's and you have alot to look forward to in the future. Give these ideas some thought. I'm sure you'll be just fine.

Business hire workers to solve problems. This is true at every level from the waiter/waitress to Tiger Woods appearing in commercials for Buicks.

What you get paid depends upon the seriousness of the problem that you look to solve and the uniqueness of you solution. Anyone can take food orders, very few can bring the recognition that Tiger brings.

If you open your own business, someone (or some company) will pay you to solve a problem.

Think about what problems you can solve and which problems people will pay you to solve.

Good Luck.

Have you had your own business in the past? If so, did you like it? If not, I suggest you enter the work force but not only for an hourly wage. Go for something that interests you instead. It is so much harder to get up every morning to go to a job you do not like. You never know where it could lead........

well , if you go back to work then you have a boss telling you what to do and how to do it. if your child gets sick then you must beg for the day off to take care of them. if you work for yourself then you can do what you like run the business your own way and if your child gets sick then you can have someone else run the business and you can take care of them. what ever you decide good luck to you.
