I've had my Sidekick 3 for the past 3-4 months and have been reading alot of forums that are downing the phone. I had the Sidekick 2 and loved it so I had to upgrade to the SK3. I cant see myself with any other phone. I have been thinking alot lately tho that if I didnt have my Sidekick 3 what phone would I get? For my Sidekick fans out there, whats the next best thing to the Sidekick?

The T-Mobile Dash, MDA, Blackberry, Motorola Q, Samsung Blackjack, iPhone, they're all good alternatives. The Sidekick has by far the best keyboard of any phone out there, and it's IM features are also the best, but a good alternative would be a PDA style phone with a good keyboard, possibly touchscreen, good web browsing features, and solid hardware. Something with an OS like Windows Mobile is an open platform which is one big advantage over the Hiptop OS, because yo can install whatever you want on it, use custom ringtones, all that sort of stuff which isn't possible on the SK3.
