Hey, take it easy there, Larry Literal. A song is usually metaphoric. I believe he meant his body temperature, he's going to hold the person close to stop the storm which could be problems at home or whatever.
Before you axed this question, I never even knew what the actual lyrics were. I thought it was: "I got the right, said we jumpin' ship and you told Mister off."
