That little girl was star struck by everyone on the stage. She was crying before Sanjaya even got on stage and was in tears the whole time she was there. I'm not sure who's voting for Sanjaya but they need to get real. This is a singing contest, not a popularity contest. I think it's ruining the whole thing. It sure is taking the credibility away.

According to tv guide the girl didnt originally have tickets to the show, but she was at the dress rehersals and started crying there. The producers saw her sobbing and then gave her and her family tickets so they could come to the actual show. Apparently Sanjaya is one of her 4 favorites... umm.. well. maybe her ear drums arent fully developed yet?!

Supposedly, she went to see a taping of "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" with tickets that also entitled her to see a dress rehersal of American Idol.
At the dress rehersal, she was so emotional that the producers porposely invited her to see the taping & sit near the front (so the cameras could find her).
Her name is Ashley and she's 13.

He did. That girl was out of control or either a prop for the show. No one crys that much for anything.
