I recently read that he's lost the confidence of the Democrats in S. Carolina. Now I'm reading that he's holding a press conference at 12:00 today. I also understand that his wife is being treated for breast cancer. Do you think he's going to drop out today? And who do you think he'll endorse if he does?

I want everyone to note that I didn't post anything derogatory about John Edwards or anyone else. I simply asked a question. And I'm not responsible for the answers.

I see that you are a man of your word Hodgie. I think you might have a best answer coming your way.

i got 10 points says he drops out of the race, but he cites family being the main reason and not political disinterest. Also bet he does not endorse a candidate today. If im wrong i will give your question a star. deal?

I think he will discuss his wife's health, after all family is more important then a run at the presidency, his run isn't because he needs the money, his honesty and integrity and his intelligence will be missed if he drops out but I understand that his wife's health issues will come first.

Edit: I don't think he will get behind anybody at this time, he would be a strong candidate for the vice presidency if he doesn't

I'm from NC... he was a weak senator and didnt do anything except travel to other states when he was in office... he missed more than 70% of the votes.... he doesnt stand a snow balls chance in hell of winning..
he is also one of the biggest crooks I have ever seen.. like when he tried to blackmail wal-mart to get the new wii...

what a biotch he is ...I bet he uses his wife to drop out.. he is such a girlie man

Even though I don't like Edwards's polictical stand or like him running for president.
I do hope and prayer it is not because of his wife's cancer.
I hate to see anyone go through it.
I hope he does have a good report and gets back into the race.

I am a conservative republican. I don't know if he will drop out although I suspect he might. I hope his wife is going to be alright. Cancer is a terrible thing. I wish them and their family the best.

We will pray for her.

Yes, see my post on his wife's cancer. The last thing he or she needs is the BS associated with an election campaign.

wow. so may sick people around here. honest to god, whether or not you like the man's politics, his wife is sick & they've got kids! have some heart. i honestly don't care whether john edwards stays in the race or not. i wouldn't vote for him, but i hope that his wife's health isn't the reason that he needs to drop out.

Media ploy. He's working on the sympathy card while bringing the media attention to him. It's sad who/what politicians will exploit.

OR

Dropping out because he want to take care of his sick wife. And (shockingly) doing something for the right reasons instead of for political gain.

I guess we'll find out in 40 minutes or so...My money's on the #1

He'll take centerstage in front of all the cameras to announce he's not pulling a Newt Gingrich. He's not going to divorce his wife while she's in the hospital.

He'll have to. He picked up his wife the other day and severely injured his back. He may never walk again.
