It sort of wrinkles up and feels sore immediately as I'm eating. I'm suspecting it's a mild allergy, (or is it?) but what I'm also wondering is what is the chemical (or other thing) that cheap pate and bananas have in common to make this effect?

My curiosity was raised by your question and so I did some research.

There are many sites online that link banana allergies to tree pollen, such as birch, and another type associated with latex allergy. I suspect in your case it is the pollen.

So what do pate and banana's have in common that could cause the same reaction?

The only component of pate that is similar is the cereal fillers that they use. These may have cereal pollen and this could be causing a similar reaction.

I don't know if you ate these two within a short period of time from each other and there is a cross-reaction between the two allergens or if you may be allergic to both types of pollen.

I hope you use this information as a guide and that if you have more serious issues you will see a doctor.

i am not sure what cheap pate is. but i do know that i use to get the sore in my mouth when eating bananas. i had an allergy to them. i was able to eat them when i got pregnant and havent stopped since. not that that would be a cure for the allergy. but it is weird how the body reacts to different things.

bananas have a pH of around 5.0, and pate is 5.9...slightly acidic. do you get this from other acidic foods (apples, oranges, etc.)? if not, then probably an allergy.

i know bananas have potassium..

but the sore feeling might be because you had orthodontics work in the past. i had an expander that broke the bone to make more space for teeth to come in. it's like a really sore feeling, and i get it too. hope helps
