Anyway, what can be done right now to see if this will help is to "DEFRAG" your hard drive, and get rid of internet cache, then run a spyware app and get rid of any spyware, then run a virus check. You do have the spyware and virus checking tools don't you? Reboot the computer. I don't care if it is a telephone hook up that you are on the internet with they all need spyware app and virus checking and firewalls. If you have WindowsXP use a third party firewall.

Click start >click run >type in msconfig click on the startup tab then uncheck everything there except your anti virus and internet connection . Click ok and your computer will restart .

Do an online virus scan to check and remove virus and spyware if you still have viruses on your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

i use a site called www.speedtest.net ,this lets you know your upload and download speed,just make sure that you don't have any p2p sharing programs etc running in the background when you perform the test.
