DOes a kestrel have 2 wings to fly? and when it hovers does it have an extra pair of wings ? giving it a total of 4?

kestrels only have 2 wings they usually hoover 30 seconds or more in open fields all birds of prey can hover

2 no more than that. They don't hover without moving these 2 wings to keep them up. They can glide on a thermal without moving their wings.
Watch the tail as they hover this is what helps keep them in a fixed position.

A kestrel, just like every other bird, only has two wings.

Only 2 I'm afraid as in all birds.It hovers using these 2..is n't nature wonderful.

Uuuurrrrrrmmmm....... two. obviously. they just have the ability to hover, so do harriers and barn owls.
