Excuse me but she did far worse than that. Many of you young people are probably unaware of the time she visited the prision camp. They knew she was coming so they got the prisioners and cells cleaned up. They issued new clothing and gave shaves and haircuts to the American prisioners.

Figuring out that someone important was coming to visit the camp, some of the Americans, despite being warned that they would be severly punished, made out tiny notes that they slipped to her as she shook their hands. She turned them over to the guards.

That, my innocent young liberals is the kind of infamy your hero Jane Fonda committed. She should still be in jail for her aid and comfort to the enemy.

Many, many more lives were lost because people like her and the war protesters at home gave the enemy encouragement to keep fighting. They knew that sooner or later America would weaken from the inside.

It is being repeated today.

A few Republicans chided me for asking a question about something that happened 3 years ago. This is about an incident a lifetime ago! If you want to update, you might mention that Kerry once attended a meeting or rally where Fonda was present.

Fonda should have been charged with a federal crime (I'm not sure what the applicable statute would have been). The fact that went scott free just goes to show how strong the public sentiment was against the war in Vietnam.

I do recall seeing some picutures of some fashion 'errors in judgment' that I've made over the years but these are only used as a good source for laughs from the pages of my family photo album. I have actually made worst mistakes than about fashion but thank goodness that none of the mistakes I've made have been immortalized for national TV or for newsmagizes to show to millions of people 20-30 years later.

I am a fan of Jane Fonda. The Viet Nam War was wrong. Jane just chose the wrong way to express her feelings on the subject. But are we so self-righteous that we can't remember any mistakes we made that we might be just as ashamed of as she possibly is of this action?

Yes, that is right. In a word she did it for publicity. Funny how fame makes ppl do things they would otherwise never think of doing on their own. It sold at the time and ppl today still remember her for it. You have to look at Viet Nam today and ask if what she did helped.

We left... and the Vietnamese communists, upon taking control, banned other political parties, arrested people believed to have collaborated with the U.S. and embarked on a mass campaign of collectivization of farms and factories. Reconstruction of the country was very slow and fraught with serious humanitarian and economic problems. Additionally, millions of people fled the country in crude boats, creating yet another humanitarian crisis. In 1978, the Vietnamese Army invaded Cambodia to remove their allies, the Khmer Rouge, from power. This action worsened relations with China, which launched a brief incursion into northern Vietnam in 1979. Vietnam relied even more heavily on Soviet economic and military aid. We simply quit. Guess we got what we asked for.

Aside from the fact she has apologized a million times for that, it was a serious lapse of judgment in trying to end the war in Vietnam.

Certainly nowhere near as bad as the massacre at My Lai

Any woman wacky enough to marry Ted Turner is obviously in need of serious therapy. Thankfully Jane is no longer relevant to anything.

Because she had very bad judgment about the way she protested the Viet Nam war.

She's merely an actress, and has a big mouth and stupid ideas. But she's a pretty good actress. Like Alec Baldwin and Johnny Depp. They should act but keep their views to themselves. Who cares what they think? They're just actors.

She's like Shawn Penn and the rest of the acting community that hate America.

I think of her as lower than Osama. She was born a wealthy American and turned her back on American Soldiers. I wish her a painful death with no honor.
