I think we should take every one's weapons away and give them sticks. Teach them chess and instead of having wars that kill millions of innocent people. Have large chess games. Whom ever wins the game wins the war.

I am not saying we should all be peace loving hippys but I am saying that fighting is antiprogressive. Look at Japan. Japan after having no military became a very strong scientific comunity. I think we should let the thinkers of the world Run it.

Look you guys. I am only hypothisizing. It isn't a realistic idea and I don't ever expect it to happen. I am familiar with human nature, and I am also familiar with needing to have to protect. I am saying there has to be peaceful ways of resolving things. America didn't need to go to war with Iraq. We just didn't. We were lied to. That is the bottom line. It doesn't mean that I think we should just stop fighting and sit in the grass and get killed by the insaine. But I am suggesting there may be another way.

The private competitive market is the thinkers of the world, not the politics of the republicans and democrats!!! You liberals really don't think things through do you? You can't take away all the weapons of the world! You also can't have human nature outside of the competitive market!(Government) It is more corrupt, wasteful, and tyrannical than freedom will ever be! Capitalism is freedom! Get that through your head and stop thinking on a republican/democrat level! Raise the bar! ~ Libertarian

Japan learned its lesson after we the US tought it to them, that fanatism is not right, remember the japs kamikaze of WW2??
Weapons are needed to stop the lunnies of this world (which are many out there unfortunately) that want to do harm to normal people and SOMEONE has to stop them, unfortunately people WITH weapons!! the military!!
Maybe someday ALL people on the planet will renounce violence, BUT until that day comes there will STILL be need for a military force to stop psychos that want to kill all of us including you!!

satire aside, I actually Do believe that weapons should be taken away. Everyone wants them so they can fight their government if it went haywire. so where's the action?
and in terms of protecting the home, i would rather not have a lethal weapon in my home with my children. trouble allll over. In my country, citizens do not have the right to carry something designed to kill other humans instantly just because they want to. and as a result, I am pretty happy in the unlikelihood of being shot. takes the opportunism and passion out of gun killings, you're usually doing the wrong thing with the wrong people if you get shot here.
and yes, war is hell, but can we play geopolitical twister instead?

All that would accomplish is to create national outlaws instead of just individual outlaws. The black market on weapons is big enough as is. Your proposal would make the black market on weapons a national phenomenon. Great, then all governments would become criminals. How do you propose putting the governments themselves into prison?

You can think whatever you like....I'd suggest you refrain from trying to take mine. I'll play all of the chess you like, but I'll not put my country's interests, or my family's, at stake on the outcome.
