So you can get to know each other very well. Until a couple live together, they don't know if it will work for sure. Some think that just b/c they truly love each other that they surly can live together and it does not always work. Take the divorce rate for example, people don't stay married as long as they once did. I think it's b/c we have let a large populace tell us this is the way to do it or else you will die and go to that fiery place. I for one don't believe in such things. 13 yrs of living in with my partner and I'm still here and life is getting better everyday. We are truly committed to each other and we did not need a Pasteur or the government to get us to do so by giving us a piece of paper. A piece of paper that does not keep people together!!!!!!

There are so many reason why lovers decided to live in. To know each other better and premarital. In my opinion ,if I am a young woman 18-39 I won't go for live in,I will not give birth to bastardos kids, and I won't give him a reason to think >Why buy a cow ,when you get a free milk"<. If I am 39-100 I will live in with him ,,I don't know yet about social security pension, I have to collect my late husband SS ,if there is no hassle between us I will marry him..

The only reason to move in together is if you are engaged. It is a good idea to live together for at least a year before getting married, so you can know for sure that you can stand to live with each other. For me, that was a condition of getting married.
