the mouse is PS/2.
in the properties it's blank, altough it was there yesterday.

i get no response from the mouse at all.

Same thing happened to me and it was my ps/2 mouse. It froze in the middle and wasn't showing in properties. Once I switched to USB mouse, it worked.

Try with a different mouse on the same port and if that doesn't work, try a USB mouse. One of these should solve the problem.

If it's wireless. Needs batteries. If it's USB then you might need to brush up on your keyboard commands to navigate to see if there are any conflicts.

Try a different mouse, it may have died.
