What you are saying is essentially not true, what the ACLU protects is the constitution which means freedom for everybody. When Rush Limbaugh got into trouble, who was there to help him. The ACLU that's who. They are neither repuglican nor democrat. Religious freedom is not organized prayer in school. It is not the ten commandments in a court house. It is your right to practice your religion in your own home and your own Church without fear of persecution.

The ACLU hasn't made any changes to anything.
The ACLU has brought issues to the attention of the courts.
And it has done so solely to preserve Constitutional protections for everyone.
It's truly sad that people see defending the Constitution and protecting minorities as Anti-American. Those folks obviously have forgotten why this country was founded in the first place.

People like to pick and choose things that they think the ACLU is for..
The American Civil Liberties Union. They protect all of our civil liberties. What about that is bad? Do you not like civil liberties? They protect free speech. ESPECIALLY unpopular free speech which is precisely the sort of speech that needs protecting. You are confusing the ACLU with some of it's clients that needed defending. The ACLU has defended just as many republicans and thier ideals as they have democrats.

Or what, of your three choices. The ACLU has protected the religious rights of individuals, time and time again.
They are for the rights of individuals and citizens. They are against organizations and government imposing their personal beliefs on other individuals.
You are apallingly ignorant about the ACLU and their history, and about what freedom even is.

The ACLU are heroes. They protect free speech no matter how ugly it is and have done a great job of keeping the state out of religion and religion out of the state.

The ACLU has jumped into the political scene and has disregarded a lot of things we hold dear. For example marriage, abortions, children disowning their parents, they need to get consensus before doing their representation for the minorities.
