My ex-boyfriend told me he was going to North Carolina for a job but yesterday I got a phone call from a FORMER friend of mine who has been meeting him up there all this time. I know that women lie as much as men. I know we all do it to some degree, but I would rather have him tell me he isn't interested in a relationship then for him to go behind my back and **** a friend of mine.

People lie for a reason, if It's for personal gain or too satisfies their ego's It doesn't matter we all lie even too our own self, and People don't seem too realize that. Who cares If you Ex-boyfriend lied, you are better off without him, get over it, and move on with your life.

I do dislike being lied to... but I do not hate liars. I think it is an unfortunate part of human nature and most everyone does it to some degree. I think it has a lot to do with a persons maturity level... and how self-centered they are. If someone lies, and then apologizes for it... I can be forgiving. I have lied myself with no ill-intent, and realized only later that it was a horrible mistake. That was worse when I was younger... I have pretty much quit doing it. But when someone asks me "hey - you wanna go hang out" - I can't say the truth if the truth is "no, i really can't stand being around you"... so I say "sorry, I already had plans" instead.... so sue me.

Depends how you define a lie. I mean when someone asks you "how are you?" and you say "fine" when you're not feeling fine then is that a lie? Yes it is in the black and white world that some people live in. Although you might want to define it strictly, my definition is that it's an alteration of perceived facts for dishonorable purposes. As long as honor (the vivid consciousness of dignity and self worth) is not at stake then it's not a lie. The problem though is that very few people have honor, meaning that they will lie as easily as they tell the truth, making hating such people an overwhelming task. Just learn from your mistakes and be less trusting of people on matters that really mean a lot to you.

It is funny....
We, sometimes forget that we tell lies ourselves!!
Maybe these lies - small or not - have hurt other people.
Maybe you are angry with yourself that you didn't realise in due time that your boyfriend was such a liar and dumb him.
It was a bad experience and this is a good lesson next time to be more careful and not to believe anything you are told.
You see? Even liars can give useful lessons.

Yes people are apt to manipulate...and by manipulating...they lie to you. One after another...and then is a point when you can't really trust them...cuz they have shown themselves as a liars.
Maybe hate is a little hash, but I do agree withyou...I can't stand them...people that they manipulate, lie and cheat.
I wish you luck!

I don't really hate them. But I certainly don't respect them, OR trust them. And those are two of the most important elements in any relationship. if I don't have respect or trust for someone I certainly couldn't be with them.

Yes, I understand your sentiments. If you can not stand them, better be away from them. Otherwise tell them plainly not to utter lie but they may not relish your advise. nagarajan.
