tufting is an upholstery term. It's where the fabric is attached to the chair frame with buttons usually regularly placed all over the piece or maybe just on the back.

It means to provide or adorn with something as in a tuft. I am not sure this will help because I am still unsure of its proper meaning. Hey I am being honest. Take care

it is where there is a button sewn in tightly... or some other stitch taken in it to make it kind of sink in in spots... Is that clear? It dont sound like it, but you see the buttons sewn in kind of counter sunk in the material
