I do vote. I vote because I care about what goes on in my world and even though I don't necessarily think I'm always right I feel I should stand firm in my convictions. I try very hard to educate myself on the issues (or the candidates) before I vote in order to make intelligent decisions.
If in studying something or someone I find my original opinion to seem wrong then I am willing to change. Once convinced however I stick by my choices.

For those of you who think your vote counts or is some kinda of effective means of democracy in this Republic of Fascist Capitalism! I have some Beach front property for sale on the MOON that can be yours! You have no democracy or say in the government & their big business bed fellows! This is why a Revolution is so important to organize & end the few wealthy rule class reign! Its currently a one party system "the money party" Which needs their A$$ kicked out of rule & control by the Legal Citizen Majority or "LCM" Party! Yes i always vote but know how ineffective & useless it is!

It is funny, being that I had a chance to look over some of the answers...People are saying:
No, it is a sham.
No, because the Libertarians will never win
No, because of ink on my finger.
No, because I watch entirely too much entertainment and am suffering from delusions.
Yes, it will not be a sham if I mobilize, stay involved and do my part.
Yes, because my party WON'T win if everyone thought 'they weren't going to anyways'.
Yes, because I wish I could have a mark of honor that I actually had the guts and motivation to do my civic duty.
Yes, because I know I can and will make a difference and NOBODY is going to stop me from doing that.
Americans and most of the free world is spoiled beyond reason. Get off your lard deposit and make a difference.

Don't you think it would be time for you to get to know who the local polititions are. If you honestly want things to get better then you have to do your part to make it happen.
Getting involved in the local politics is the best way to make changes. You will understand a lot more and have the knowledge to make some wiser choices.
If any of you do not like what is then griping will not change it but you can by getting involved.

I didn't for the longest time. I refused to legitimize the mockery of what used to be the greatest political body on Earth. Then I discovered the Libertarian Party. I vote regularly now.

Yes, I vote, and have voted in every Presidential, and congressional election since 1968. I vote for various reasons but the number one is that I feel an obligation to all that have died keeping my freedom to vote free. There have been elections that I have held my nose to vote, but none the less I voted.

Not any more. I used to, but I have finally given up.
Why? Because I am sick to death of all judicial activism. I am sick to death of seeing the Supreme Court misinterpret the U.S. Constitution (and the highest of Massachusetts misinterpreting that state's Constitution.) When the judges don't do their jobs right, I don't see any point in voting.

I don't. Because in the Philippines the election officer mark the person who finished voting with indelible ink. It remained in my fingernails for three days.
Another reason is that the candidates are all coming from the same political families, as if elective office can be inherited.

Yes. There are too many people out here that just want to complain. If you dont vote you shouldnt have the right to complain. If you dont like who is in office, and you didnt vote, just shut up. You are either a part of the problem (complainers) or part of the solution (voters).

i have voted in the past, but probably won't in the future. the two party system in this country is such a sham & it's funny that people fall for it time & time again. the libertarian party is pretty sweet, but they never win. but if i do decide to vote in the future, it will be for the libertarian party.
