Yes because you are hidden behind your ID and no one really knows who you are unless you want them to so you can say what you like without anyone getting back at you. Probably a cowards way to some but to others a wonderful chance to air their true feelings.

Nope... I'm like it on and off line, very open and up front... it's a curse of life for me... both advantage and a disadvantage, with me, what you see is what you get, so people tell me anyway... and I'm too old to change now.

In the sixties, seventies, eighties and nineties, it didn't go down well, I was often asked if I really am English... because I'm not reserved this way, but nowadays, it doesn't make people back away... since more and more people are outspoken.

The media and the Internet and the chat shows we see all day have made people less inhibited this way.

The only thing is, while I do it with a smile and always have, so many do it with a scowl... and so much anger in them, it causes arguments, that is when it's a pain to tolerate.

:-)

Definitely! I feel like I can tell almost everything to a complete stranger. I even keep an online blog where I share pretty much everything about my life. I find it refreshing and helpful to share stuff with people and get their opinions. Even though I have my close friends and relatives, there are things I can't talk about with them. In the situation my online blog is my best alternative.

Yes. I can be myself online and still nobody judges me! In real life i put on a confident front for most people, but online it doesnt matter because its unlikely that you will meet anyone you chat to on here! (Even though i met my current bf of 6 months on a internet dating site!)

Very much so, but I still act the same online as I do offline.
