Should be using the havard author + date system and then your full details are put in the bibliography, (works cited,) at the end of the work.
In this the details should be as follows; name of author/ title of a part of a book/ title of book/ date of first publication, (when there is a big gap bewteen first publication date and edition used,)/name of editor, translator, compiler/edition used, (ignore dates of reprints,)/number(s) of the volumes(s) used/ name of the series/ place of publication, name of publisher, date of publication/ page numbers.
You may not need all details, but that is the order they are usually liset in bibliography/ works cited. If you follow that, whatever reference you have used will be able to be found

I assume you are doing the paper in MLA format - if so go to MLA's site and they can tell you how to handle it. The site explains the process of using MLA very completely. Every student should have the site bookmarked for future reference. Pax - C.

Depends on what style of formatting you are using. MLA and APA style both have slightly different ways of doing it.
