When you pluck your eyebrows for the first time, I would always recommend having it done professionally. Especially if you're shaping them. Then you can just keep the shape in check.
If you do insist on doing it yourself, always pluck under the brow, not from on top as this ruins the shape. Pluck in the direction of the growth, not against it and if you have sensitive skin, put a damp warm flannel against the area before you start to expand the folicles so it won't hurt as much.
Good luck!

Start by Removing the hairs just above the eyelids. Never remove hairs from above the eyebrows. You want your eyebrows to look high. So pluck only the underneath hairs and go as far as you can without going pencil thin. You can probably go half way. Then remove some of the hairs on the outside edge of your brows because they go down and you want to leave bare skin there. Then do in between your brows above your nose and remove hairs from both sides. Then take a look in the mirror and decide how much to cut back on what you got left. Just cut off hairs that stick out straight and you will have a much cleaner look. Then apply your make up and finish dressing up and go out for a night on the town.Do less at first and you can always go farther but it takes a long time to grow them back and sometimes they don't grow back.

The first time you pluck it hurts but after years of doing like me you dont feel it, always pluck from underneath never from above the brow. Pluck them before you go bed so they have all night to recover because they will be red, if you have got any bonjela put that on before you pluck to numb the area. If you do make a mistake its not the end of the world they grow back and you can pencil in any bald patches but I am sure you will fine.

Pluck! BUT NOT OVER THE BROW!
Pluck the bottom of the brows - any spare hairs and in the middle - eyes your eyes as a marker so each side is equal - your eyebrows should end in line with your nose. (hold a pencil at the end of your nose diagolly to your corner of your eye and thats where the brow should end.

You have to use very delicate tools, try a chain saw. Start with that and when you get the out line of the brow you want switch to a weed wacker and do your touch ups. This should make you look very beautiful indeed.

ask a girl friend to do it for you the first time. this way she can step back and make sure they're even. in future you'll be able to just catch the ones as they grow back and keep them 'tamed' yourself.

I think best bets would be to go to a beautician where they can do them properly for you.
