Essentially, that makes those companies government companies. She just tryin to get elected by using the evil oil companies as the villain. Sure, they made lots of money this past year. But, what happens if you look at their balance sheet and compare it to other large companies. You can't just look at the profits. There are expense and cost fluctuations. We already have a process for taking companies money. It's called taxes. The government can't just waltz in and say they want more. Smacks of socialism or communism. I'm not gonna start calling people comrade or stand in line for 3 hrs for toilet tissue like in past failed government systems. If she thinks the oil companies broke some laws then she can charge them and possible fine them. She can't just decide who made to much and what they should do with it. My wife and I already pay a butt-load of taxes. Hilary would have us give all and become a welfare country.
The reason the U.S. is greatest economic power ever is because of capitalism. You work hard, use your head and you can become very wealthy. You should not be punished for that.

Unfortunately, there is nothing illegal if congress votes it into law. It happened in the 70's. It can happen again. It is a convenient political tool to blame the oil companies for consumer and politician failings. Let's blame someone else. U S national pastime.
Unfortunately, Hillary is not too intelligent. Neither was her husband. But they are both a lot more intelligent than Georgy boy. I suppose it is an American prevalence to have someone in the White House who makes the average citizen look like a Rhodes scholar.

It'll be interesting to watch the response from the people screaming about the current high cost of gas while paying an extra 40-50 cents a gallon for an environmentally more friendly "summer blend" .
I'm also betting once the government starts screwing around with oil company pricing, we'll see lines and shortages again. It's either a free market economy or it isn't

Somehow we all have to get along. When Republicans get in office, they advocate for the individual investor and business owner under the system of government we now have. Democrats have always been for themselves and the poor. That is what they pay attention to. Taking profits from oil and placing them into solar development will create jobs and movement in the country that is percieved by those ....who want a movement of profit into their pockets, in the name of "saving the nation"....its all about saving....Christian values? Mankind will constantly be in ebb and flow over what to do and will gravitate towards change because we are alive. To be alive is a constant change. I will not be in any position to disallow anything perse and more than likely you won't either. If Hillary speaks up and people vote for her, I think you would invest your money appropriately. You have a vote just like I do, but your vote is over after the election baring legal action, which I doubt you would follow through with. We are gonna move with the current, really, no matter how resistant we are.
