Which Silent Hill xbox video game is the best?

One, two, three, or four?
I heard four's really good/scary. Why?

first of all, four isn't a silent hill game. it has a completely different game engine and style. Secondly, it was actually orignally going to be produced as a stand alone title, but mid way through production konami decided to make it a silent hill title, and added in silent hill names and what not. Also, it is difficult to relate to a protagonist who spent several days trapped in his own apartment and hasnt torn apart the doors or windows, who would tolerate that?
The best game, as far as stand on it's own, probably two. However, I totally recommend playing them through from the beginning, as they all build on the Silent Hill story. One and Three are related to how the town got to be the way it is, while two is about how the town uses its powers, as well as why it was possible for one and three to happen (it gives the history of the town that lead to a seminal event that one and three revolve around). It is the most cohesive of the titles (there is a book in japanese only that explains silent hill one, and silent hill three has a lot of moments where you feel the protagonist is acting/doing things for the sake of the storyline, and not what a normal person would do in that situation. Silent Hill two feels the most real because of those defecencies in the other two games, though once you know the back story to one, i say its the best)

Also, Silent Hill One has different endings based on a few critical items that you interact with, Silent Hill Three has a point based reward system for its endings. Silent Hill Two has different endings based on how you played throughout the game, very innovative (at the same time, annoying to play through and get the same ending because you played the same stylisitcally).

There are two more silent hill games coming out, A Silent Hill Five and another title for PSP I think. When they come out, I'll have to buy a PSP and PS3 so i can review em for you. Have fun!

To be honest all three are a different kind of Awesome. Two Has a Really engaging storyline that keeps you guessing and confused till the very end however combat can be a little weak.Three Has a really nice mix of fast paced combat and a compelling storyline.Four is by far my favorite you have an awesome storyline, lots of interactable characters,a really scary enviroment (the room you're stuck in) which can be haunted by ghosts to where your wall starts spewing forth demonic baby faces and other nasty hauntings,Great combat accompanied by a huge collection of neat weapons, and plot twists that make sure you won't be playing in the dark for long periods of time. I recommend Silent Hill 4:the room,but then again i own all of them so try giving them all a shot you won't be disappointed.

I would have to say 2. It has a great story line and enough content to scare you through-out the whole game. While four is scary I found that they tried to get you to do way more puzzle type things that is really needed. But the game is still good if you got a lot of time on your hands. I dont think I ever played three....

1 and 2 are okay. Its kinda repetitive. The best one is either 3 or 4.. 3 is pretty short but the monsters scares the daylights out of you. 4 isn't like all the silent hills and I heard you can carry limited items so more realistic.

relies upon what you like. ineffective area is a horror sport and is meant to be extremely reliable. yet i've got in no way been prepared on horror extremely, so i might bypass with myth 2. What i've got learn Silent Hill hasn't been extremely reliable. in case you ever performed myth and cherished it, i might relatively bypass with that.
