I am not from the US, so I don't know if there is any particular attachment from players to the number 32. But why there are so many great players that wear it? Coincidence?

Many young players look up to their idol or their favorite player while in college and want to be just like them when they turn pro. If you look back in the NBA, there was a lot of #32's that were great players, for example Magic Johnson. Who wouldn't want to be like Magic...

Someone above me commented about the #23 and Lebron...come on, that's no coincidence. He wants to be the next MJ, you can tell from the way he talks about being a "global icon." Not many people have the nerve to wear 23 to be compared to MJ, but Lebron does, I guess. Think about the reaction if Kobe had decided to switch to 23 instead of 24 instead. There would have been a huge backlash because MJ is held to GOD-standards, and Kobe's image would have been killed. This is off-topic I know, but don't expect to see too many 23s in the future.

Its just coincidence. What about all the players that wear 23...Jordan, Lebron. Heck Kobe wears 24 does that make him "one better than Jordan"?

Well, it's becaus it was Earvin "Magic" Johnson's nr. and he is consider one of the 5 best player's of all time, and the best PG.
