i'm a virgin (waiting till im married), but i was wondering how exactly women wash up after sex? i understand that when you have sex without a condom and your partner comes inside of you, you wash up right after sex as to not get pregnant. how is that done? and is it effective?

First after you have sex.....you take a shower and wash all over your body especially your vagina.......

Second...it will NOT prevent you from getting pregnant.... You don't wanna get pregnant? use birth control....

Washing up after sex is not a method of contraception. If you don't use any protection and just wash up after intercourse you are more than likely to get pregnant really soon. You might have actually meant douching, it's different from merely washing up. Some women use it to treat yeast infections, although there's medical evidence that douching can actually cause them and doctors usually do not recommend this procedure. There might be women out there who do use douching to prevent pregnancy. Probably, women who for whatever reason cannot use the available contraceptive methods. I don't know anybody who would do that, but I happen to know that my grandmother used it to prevent pregnancy, it was a really long time ago when it was pretty much the only choice. So, to answer your question: no, neither 'washing up', nor douching could be considered a method of contraception. Condoms: the least invasive and quite effective method. Use them correctly and your chances of getting pregnant are very low. If you don't want to use them, you need to go on a pill. If you are against artificial birth control, you would need to calculate your 'safe days', but sorry to say this is not a relyable method. Personally know women who got pregnant on the safest days of their cycle. Contraception is an important issue. I suggest that you research the available methods of contraception, consult your gynecologist and choose the method that would appeal to you most, so that when the time comes you have a stress free and care free honeymoon!

It is definitely a myth and the worst type of birth control, that's for sure. Some may use a douche in order to flush out the sperm, but is no guarantee. Otherwise, after sex, one has the option of using a bidet or just wash with a cloth from front to back. If you are planning on using birth control after you're married, then there are many options, such as the pill, the patch, or taking your temperature every day to see when you're ovulating and then not have sex. This is also not a very accurate method.

That is NOT an effective way to prevent pregnancy! You should use a condom or the pill if you don't want to get pregnant! But after sex you should either take a shower or at least go pee. Sit there for a while and let it the come drip out. (yuck) Use a washcloth or a wet wipe to clean yourself up. You might need to use a panty liner, it continues to come out for about an hour. I really hope this was a serious question.

The only way not to get pregnant with your man ejaculating inside of you is birth control (pills, nuva ring, foam etc) unless he's had work done. Washing up does not prevent pregnancy or stds. Even if you're not ovulating you can still risk getting pregnant because sperm can live in your vagina for up to 6 days even after washing up. Douching will only push those sperm swimmers closer to it's goal. If you don't want to take oral contraceptives there are other options without as many side effects such as the Sponge, Film, Female Condom, Foam, and my favorite The Nuva Ring. Be careful girlfriend! ;-)

After sex, a woman must clean up the fluids inside here by standing up right and dose her vagina with running water from a hose.If you think this is an effective way not to get her pregnant, you are wrong.I know some girls who do this but i tell you man...it's not a guarantee that you wont get her pregnant especially if you come during her unsafe period. The better way not to get her pregant is to have sex with her atleast 7 days before ( infact even during her period if you can stand the sight of blood)or 7 days after her monthly period. This is a period of time for woman when they're ovulating and they are not likely to get pregnant. The best way though (since you are still a virgin) and please take heed of my advice,is to use a condom or ask your woman to take contraceptive pills. This way both of you wont have to worry about her getting pregnant too soon. Be responsible. Have a great sex life!

No you do not wash up after sex and it does not prevent pregnancy. If you feel a little sticky after sex you may want to take a warm washcloth and wash the OUTSIDE of your vaginal area with water only but nothing more is done after sex. Not sure where you heard your info but it is not correct. Women should never douche without a docs order and soap should never be used in the vaginal area. Feminine hygeine sprays are also not good for women.

First of all, let me be the first to commend your decision to have sex after marriage, I wish I would have waited myself. Secondly, washing up in the shower with your man after sex isn't a bad idea either! This however is not birth control. I would suggest you think about if you do or do not want kids right away. Discuss it with your husband to be and decide what method of birth control you would like to use with the assistance of a professional who can give you all your options, risks and benefits for you to make an informed decision. Knowledge is Power!! Have Fun!!

For starters if you have sex without a condom you are taking a chance on getting pregnant . I don't think you can wash that off ! You may want to clean up afterword but i really think you might want to read up some more on the facts of life !

oh no no no. old wives' tale that is. washing will not keep you from getting pregnant...the sperm is way up inside you. actually washing or douching can push the sperm up further and give you an even better chance of getting pregnant. the only way to avoid pregnancy is to use condoms AND use birth control too. that's a double up on protection. or abstain from sex altogether, which you are doing, smart girl.

Washing up after sex does NOT prevent pregnacy. Birth control of some sort do pervent pregnancy. I find that after sex a wet spot gets on the sheets so both my partner and me use a towel to dry up.
